COUNTDOWN TO EXAMS HAS BEGUN!

So the last month before examination is in progress. As expected, a teacher's blog for students is full of advices. But if these advices are taken seriously can be useful for the students appearing in the examinations, particularly for the students appearing in board or university examinations. This blog of mine is a continuation of my previous blog 'EXAM PHOBIA - THE CAUSE OF SUICIDE' in which I highlighted the pressure faced by the students, its cause and results. Now I want to share with the students the tips on 'HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE EXAMINATION'.
Making a Perfect Time Table - Success in the examination depends on the planning. Not only making the plan but following it strictly is necessary. There should be a proper schedule or in other words, a time table that will help the students organize their activities. This schedule should be such that a proper attention should be given to all the subjects. It should also include some time for refreshment and rest. The rest period may include listening music, going out in the garden or market, meeting friends and such activities that may give you relief. Don't forget to have some time for light exercise or yoga.
Taking Nutritious Food - Exam preparation is a mental work and requires a lot of energy. So nutritious food that may include fresh fruits, juice etc. should be taken. More importantly, the food should be taken at proper time without any negligence. Junk food like pizza, burger, petties, samosa etc should be avoided as these may cause abdominal problems.
Proper Sleep and Exercise- It is a well known saying that healthy mind resides in healthy body. It can be achieved by having proper sleep and exercise. Generally 7 to 8 hours of sleep is necessary to keep ourselves fresh. This refreshment can be achieved further by taking light exercise or yoga. But avoid heavy exercise if you are not habitual of it.
Helpful 4 R's - To make your study scorable, keep in mind the 4 R's namely - Reading, Retention, Recall and Recognition.
Reading - Read main points/ summary of each lesson instead of complete lesson at this crucial moment of time.
Recall & Retention - After reading, just recall in your mind how much you have retained of the topic.
Recognition - Recognize the relevant portion of the topic according to the question.
Subject-wise Study -
Hindi - Prepare for the grammar, comprehension and context of the passages.
English - Like Hindi, here too grammar is important. While answering the questions, paragraphs etc take care of the spellings and sentence structure
Maths - Make a chart of mathematical formulas and read them everyday before sleeping.
Science - Chemical equations and sketching diagrams are important here. These can be learnt easily by writing and drawing again and again.
Social Science - Generally students consider it a boring subject. But it can become interesting if the things are learnt in the form of stories.
Solve Sample Papers - Finally, solve five sample papers of each subject providing similar examination conditions and get them marked by the subject specialists. This will help you to adjust yourself according to exam pattern and remove your mistakes. But before starting solving them, take a look at the marking scheme of each subject. It guides you about what examiner wants and how marks are awarded.
Some Tips for Parents - During these preparatory days, the parents can prove to be best friends and guides for their children. They should not put extra pressure on them for getting high percentage nor should they compare them with other students. As it may discourage them. Instead. they can take care of the wards by giving them proper nutritious food at regular time. Further, they should have full confidence in them which will give them self confidence.
I hope these advices will be very helpful for you to perform well in the coming examinations. If you really think that these advices are making you encourage, then leave a comment.
WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST FOR THE EXAMINATIONS.
